DATA SCIENCE. I am a data scientist with a passion for democratizing information and making data work for people. I love combining my background in information science with my technical data science skills to turn data into insights.
ACTIVISM. I dedicate the majority of my free time to an immigrant rights organization called Make The Road New York (MRNY), located in Bushwick (Brooklyn). I aid in fundraising, outreach, coordinating public events, documenting ICE raids, and disseminating know-your-rights materials. I was introduced to MRNY when I coordinated a group of around 1,000 people to protest at JFK International Airport in response to President Trump's travel ban. To learn more about my part in the JFK protests, please listen to this episode of Mobilize Podcast and/or read this Broadly article.
ANIMALS, TEA, EMBROIDERY. I am a dog- and cat-mother, as well as a caretaker to many houseplants. I love nurturing the things around me and filling my home with growth. I am passionate about all types of tea (but am partial to a great Wu-Long) and find catharsis in embroidery.
BACKPACKING. While living in Brooklyn doesn't allow for much outdoors time, I try to get out and backpack as often as possible. I’ve backpacked in Glacier National Park (MT), Yosemite (CA), Sequoia (CA), and Three Sisters (OR).
